“Whatever you ask in My name, I will do it so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it.”
John 14:13-14 HCSB

In my last post, I mentioned that my bladder had been overactive for some time and it was not easy having to use the washroom more frequently than normal.

Well at a point I decided that I had had enough. It was causing me so much anxiety and I decided to pray about it.

I recalled that the last time I prayed for healing in my body, I took these words literally “But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.”

Isaiah 53:5 NIV

In my mind I’m thinking, if Jesus already paid for my sins and took upon Himself all that was supposed to cause me suffering because of my fallen nature, I can pray and receive what is already mine in Christ.

It’s a blessing really, that we who by nature should wallow in the suffering and pain that sin has brought us are now people that are able to call on Jesus, reject the suffering, and claim the peace and healing He gives. God is amazing. God is merciful. God is good.

So back to this bladder issue, I prayed, emphasizing the fact that the discomfort and abnormality I feel was part of what Jesus bore as He suffered at Calvary. And because a debt shouldn’t paid twice I am free from this malfunction in my body.

Less than a day later, I noticed that I stopped having the problem. I could drink water and not feel the immediate need to use the washroom. Like I could drink loads and still stay for hours without having the need to use the washroom. Slowly but surely I understood that I was free! I was delighted! I was grateful!!!

See, these are the things I can’t deny in my life. These are the things that help me believe there’s an El Roi and that He is very much alive.

Imagine if I hadn’t taken the bold step to bring the issue before God.

Talk to Him today, He sees. And He cares.

“Are not five sparrows sold for two copper coins? And not one of them is forgotten before God. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.”
Luke 12:6-7

P.S: Writing this was really edifying for me.
